A Bathroom Mosaic

As long as we have good internet access (thanks Eline!) we will try to add photos and thoughts on our way to Kenya. We arrived in Amsterdam this morning, 40 minutes early thanks to a strong tailwind across the Atlantic. Fighting jetlag, we trekked all around the city, visiting Nate's old stomping grounds and meeting up with friends.

The YWAM building in the center of Amsterdam greets all guests to this city with the words "Jesus loves you" and "God roept u (God calls you)" emblazoned across the top of the building in bright neon blue letters. YWAM runs a cafe on the ground level that seeks to connect with the hurting crowds that fill Amsterdam's streets. We met up with Nate's friend at this cafe this morning, and before we left Sam oddly said that we couldn't leave without checking out the bathrooms. They were probably the most beautiful bathrooms I (Jill) have ever seen. As you can see, an intricate mosaic made with pieces of tiles and mirrors cover every available nook of the room.

From my (Nate's) perspective, I saw more than just the incredible mosaic that one YWAM worker creatively designed. I was so happy to see the Church worldwide employ the gifts of the body--including artwork--to advance the Kingdom of God. We can use so many different forms of media--and different aspects to the message of Jesus--to allow God to reveal the presence of another Kingdom.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers. We have had a fantastic journey thus far!
